Build and upgrade buildings

Each building solves a colony need. Some produce resources; others provide housing, unlock manufacturing or let you manage the planet.

Step by step

1. Open a planet and select the building you want to construct or upgrade.
2. Review its current level, the next benefit, resource costs and build time.
3. Check its research requirements and level cap.
4. Confirm the build order and check its progress.
5. When it finishes, review power and workers. An upgrade may need more staff to deliver the expected output.

Each planet has one active build and its own queue. Adding an upgrade to the queue does not pay its cost in advance. You need the resources when it reaches the front. If you are short then, the queued order may be cancelled.

If a building reaches its level cap, check which research can raise it. Upgrading the Command Center does not by itself unlock every level for the other structures.
