The Research Center helps generate Science Points, and its level can meet technology requirements. Centers across your colonies contribute to your empire’s shared science pool.
Build or upgrade a center and assign workers. Then open Research to check your available science and generation per hour.

A high-level building with vacant jobs may produce less than expected. Before upgrading again, compare the available workers and check the effects of any assigned specialists.
