Understand your empire's resources and points
In this guide · Economy
Before you spend, check which resources belong to a planet and which are shared by your empire. One colony may have plenty of minerals while another lacks the resources it needs to build.
| Resource or points | Used for | Managed |
|---|---|---|
| Minerals | Construction and manufacturing. | On each planet. |
| Microchips | Technology, building and ship costs. | On each planet. |
| Hydrogen | Fleet and probe fuel; some manufacturing costs. | On each planet. |
| Food | Supporting the population and covering certain costs. | On each planet. |
| Power | Supplying facilities and maintaining their efficiency. | As a generation and demand balance for each planet. |
| Credits | Purchases, services and other economic operations. | Your universe wallet shows the shared available balance. |
| Science | Starting research. | Across your empire in that universe. |
| Diplomacy Points | Activating and maintaining policies, paying for annexations and other uses. | Across your empire in that universe. |
| Components | Paying for recipes and advanced developments that require them. | In the inventory of the planet where they are made or delivered. |

Check your stockpile and production together. A food reserve of 2,000 with a negative balance is running down. A small supply of microchips with positive production is a shortage you may solve by waiting or adding factory workers.
You need transport to move physical resources between colonies. A planet’s available power does not supply the others.
