Manage population, workers, and happiness

Your population supports the colony’s economy. Residents can work in buildings and everyone consumes food. Happiness also affects growth and income.

The Minerals Mine, Chip Factory, Hydrogen Mine, Farm, Research Center and Component Factory use workers for production. Leaving some jobs vacant reduces their output compared with full staffing. The Command Center also employs workers who contribute to diplomacy.

Step by step

1. Check the total population and how many residents are free to assign.
2. Prioritize the buildings that meet your current needs.
3. Adjust worker assignments and save your changes.
4. Check production, food and happiness.
5. Review staffing after upgrades. A larger building may need more workers.

If food is running short, add Farm workers to help prevent famine. If you need science, staff the Research Center. To add workers over time, prepare housing and keep happiness high.
