Build ships and prepare a fleet

A fleet is a group of ships that you send on missions. Creating a fleet and building its ships are separate actions. A newly created fleet needs available ships before it can do any work.

Step by step

1. Open the Spaceport on the planet where you will prepare the expedition.
2. Check which ships your research has unlocked and order the ones you need.
3. Wait for construction to finish.
4. Open Fleets, create a fleet and assign available ships to it.
5. Check its cargo capacity and speed before assigning a mission.

Prepare a fleet for a specific task. Transport needs cargo capacity, colonization needs a colonizer and combat needs ships that can face the target. Mixing slow ships with faster ones may extend the journey. The slowest ship sets the speed of the entire fleet.
