Use edicts and review policy upkeep

Imperial edicts affect all of your colonies. Manage them from Empire. Their reach differs from the laws you activate for an individual planet.

Step by step

1. Open Empire and review the edicts you have unlocked.
2. Read each effect and trade-off.
3. Check Diplomacy Points, resources at your capital and upkeep.
4. Review incompatibilities and the active-edict limit.
5. Confirm and check the edict’s status alongside your other imperial policies.

Activation is a one-time payment; upkeep is recurring. When a policy is suspended, its benefits stop. Before reactivating it, resolve the resource shortage that caused the suspension.

Choose policies you can maintain alongside your next plans. Saving Diplomacy Points for an annexation may mean delaying an edict or reviewing an active law.
