Scan again to discover new hyperlanes
In this guide · Exploration
You can scan a system again after exploring it. Each completed scan may discover unknown hyperlanes connecting it to other systems.
Discovery is not guaranteed. A scan may reveal one or more routes, or finish without adding any. Visiting a system once does not mean you know all of its connections.
Step by step
- Open Cartography and review the systems you know and how they connect.
- Choose a system that your available probes can scan again.
- Prepare the scan and wait for it to finish.
- Return to Cartography and check for new connections.
- If a new connection appears, review your next exploration options and probe range.

Alternate between scanning new destinations and rescanning systems that could expand your routes. Save hydrogen and mission slots for other operations. A repeat scan offers a chance to find a route, not a guaranteed reward.
