Assign characters, specialists and advisors

Characters provide effects when assigned to a compatible role. Owning a card does not activate its bonus.

Open Characters to browse your collection and read each character’s effects, destination and trade-offs. Assign each card where it will work:

Role	Where to assign it	Effect applies to
Specialist	A building profile, Specialist tab.	The compatible building.
Governor, General or Foreman	Command Center, Planetary Government.	The planet.
Admiral	Fleet management.	The assigned fleet.
Chief Scientist	Research.	Your empire’s research.
Advisor	Empire, Council.	The imperial bonuses listed on the card.

Each planet has separate roles for a Governor, General and Foreman. The Chief Scientist has a different role from a Research Center’s specialist, and the Council has its own seats.

Read the full profile before assigning a character. A card may improve science while reducing income, or speed up research while reducing its point generation. Rarity alone does not determine which character suits your situation.

After an assignment, check its status and effect breakdown. Review roles as your empire changes. A character who helped your early production may not be the right choice when you prepare an exploration campaign.
