Attack pirates and free a merchant

To attack a pirate, you need a fleet that can reach it and survive the fight. The reward shown in its profile is not granted just for selecting Attack.

Step by step

1. Check the pirate’s ships and status.
2. Select an available fleet of your own.
3. Review its arrival time, strength and composition. Check the hydrogen at the origin before dispatching it.
4. Read the battle report once the fight is resolved.
5. If you win and the fleet survives, follow it home with the reward.

Other players may act before you. If a pirate has already been destroyed or is committed to another fight when your fleet arrives, your fleet may return without the reward.

If a pirate is about to attack a merchant, destroying it before the attack arrives may free the merchant and restore trading. Compare the arrival times of both missions. A later victory may come too late to save the merchant.
