Halloween & v0.5: a mysterious signal, a fresh start

Hi everyone! Development has kept me busy lately, but I wanted to make room for something special: Halloween has arrived in Nexus: Downfall. There’s a mystery to investigate now, and a fresh start to look forward to with the next major update.

HALLOWEEN · PATCH v0.4.23

A signal. A decision. Something worth finding.

The event runs from October 26 to November 2, 2026, arriving alongside Patch v0.4.23.

Every player receives a mysterious signal. What you do with it is up to you. I’ll leave the rest for you to discover.

A legendary reward is available only during this event. And yes: your Halloween rewards will carry over into November’s fresh start.

v0.5: a new beginning to explore together

Patch v0.5 will bring several new gameplay mechanics. Rather than release them one at a time, I’m bringing them together in a larger update so you can explore how they work together.

To give those changes a clean foundation, I’m planning a controlled, partial server wipe in November, around the middle of the month. The exact date is still to be confirmed.

Think of it as a chance to build a new empire with what you’ve learned, try a different approach or invite a friend to discover Nexus. If you’ve been waiting for a good moment to join, this fresh start is an opportunity to get involved as the game takes its next step.

A helping hand for everyone: all players will receive a Development Pack to make the early game faster than usual and help you get back to exploring the new mechanics.

Looking ahead: future wipes and version 1.0

Nexus is still in Early Access, so further resets may be necessary as major systems change. My current expectation is at most one additional wipe between November and the final reset for version 1.0, possibly in February 2027 if needed.

A final wipe is planned for the launch of version 1.0, currently targeted for around April 2027. These are development estimates, not confirmed dates. All achievements earned during Early Access will be preserved when 1.0 arrives.

For our Andromeda Alpha players

If you played in the Andromeda Alpha, I haven’t forgotten the achievements you earned in the previous universe. Their migration is still on my to-do list. Since achievements are currently cosmetic, I’ve prioritised other development work, but I’ll add them as soon as I can.
